Byeong Mo Yang has been the Market Area Manager in Power Grids and Renewables for DNV in Korea since 2014 where he was involved in the consulting of technical due diligence (TDD) for renewables projects including Energy Storage Systems (ESS), specification development for the AC 400kV cable system, PFI of power facilities, asset management development for utilities, and technical support of HVDC systems.
Prior to joining DNV, he was an electrical engineer with extensive experience working in the power systems sector of KEPCO for 17 years, and has abundant R&D and technical support experience in power systems in Korea. As part of his role, he was involved in in test, assessment, maintenance, and design of underground and submarine cables including power system planning (PSP).
In addition, he has participated in research projects related to power systems, simulation, simulator development of HVDC systems, and the simulation of interconnecting renewable energy sources with the grid.
